Job Summary:
The Indiana University National Center of Excellence in Women's Health is seeking a Nurse Practictioner to join our outreach team. Participate in a program to provide free health assessments, healthy lifestyle education, reproductive health/HIV-STI education, and nutrition to underserved women and teens. Attend community and corporate events, and travel locally on our Wellness on Wheels (WOW) Bus.
This is a part-time, PRN, hourly position with varying shifts and days (usually 4-6 hours) including some weekends and sporadic travel. The position includes working in partnership with the Outreach Program Manager, being a team player with other health care providers, and acting as an educator to health care students.
This position reports to the Executive Director of the IU National Center of Excellence in Women's Health.
Required Appropriate qualifications:
REQUIRED: Women's Health Nurse Practitioner from an accredited nursing program or completion of an accredited program, plus 1 year of practice in a clinical setting.
Skilled team member with capability to develop trusting relationships with program participants. capability to work quickly and effectively with diverse populations, low earnings families, communities, and organizations. Skilled women's health NP with women's health/reproductive health clinical practice. capability to establish and maintain a professional network of community resources, health care providers and others. capability to adhere to standards of IRB. capability use good judgment in independent decision-making and in seeking advice as needed. capability to supervise and educate health care students. Familiar with preventive health and Evidence located Practice in women's health. Good communication expertise (written and verbal, including good telephone communication). Working expertise of basic Microsoft Office Products and the Internet
Preferred Appropriate qualifications:
Previous practice in a women’s health clinical setting.
Bilingual in Spanish
